The kids take 2 Quick Checks every week in Math and Reading. If they make an 80 or higher they receive a High Five. After they get so many High Fives they can buy prizes to reward them for their hard work. This week for the High Fives Mr. Barnett came in and announced them. The kids loved getting to High Five him and be recognized in front of the class. They have been doing an AWESOME job each week working very hard!!

Measurement

In math class we were working with different units of measurement. The kids did an activity where they jumped and hopped on different lines. After they jumped or hopped they marked their spot with a piece of tape. Once everyone was finished the kids went back and measured their spots. One day we worked with customary units of length and the next day we did metric units of length.

System Hunt

The kids went outside and went on a Systems Hunt. They were to find different systems and name thier parts, draw a picture, and tell what they system was used for.

After making a light bulb light the kids were now off for the task to make a motor run. This time they had a motor, a battery, and some wires. Most of the groups figured this one out quicker because it was very similar to the previous project. Check out the pictures!! Brian and Jorge
